DETAILS
Whether pounding the pavements or hiking country trails, the GEL-ODYSSEY™ athletic walking shoe has been built to last – with clever technologies to put a bounce in your stride and prevent twisting in tricky terrain. The SpEVA™ foam midsole goes beyond the shock absorbing properties of conventional foams to increase the shoe’s durability, while adding a remarkable uplift in rebound. For further bounce there’s also a removable OrthoLite™ sockliner, which gives extra comfort and helps to manage the moisture around your foot so it doesn’t overheat. The shoe has design features which are there to stop “overpronation” – the tendency for a foot to roll inwards when walking.First of all,the shoe includes DUOMAX® technology – this ASICS system consists of two different density midsole materials to provide smooth overpronation control. When trekking on tough terrain,TRUSSTIC SYSTEM® technology in the midfoot should come in useful, this is a molded component that provides added stability and helps control twisting as you stride along. When walking long distances, comfort is key, which is what our GEL® technology in the rearfoot is for. This special material gives you great shock absorbency, especially important for activities involving constant impact on the foot. The shoe also includes an AHARPLUS™ heel plug to improve durability and support you over many miles. This AHARPLUS™ rubber is a tough compound used in parts of the outsole where there is heavy contact,to reduce wear and tear. With all these great design features, you’ll be able to go the distance in the GEL-ODYSSEY™ shoe.
